70 Years of Sailing on Galway Lake

Hasna has spent countless hours working on the presentation from the 70th Anniversary Celebration of the GLCA.

JULY 13 6:30 PM MOONLIGHT SAIL/PADDLE 

In celebration of the Sailing Club’s 70 Anniversary, the Firecracker Pontoon Boat Captain will be handing out a special gift bag to each participant!  Let us know if you’ll be attending this free event.  Text 518-860-4805 or email hasnak50@yahoo.com if you’re attending and how many are in your group.  Enter “Moonlight” as the subject.  More information will be posted as we get closer to the event.

 

JULY 14 5:30 PM 70TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION DINNER, VILLAGE PIZZERIA

Tickets are on sale now so please get your tickets before July 1st.  A ticket order form is attached for your use.  This is a fun event that you’ll not want to miss.  Past, present, and future sailors and their families are encouraged to attend.

 

JULY 15 4:00 PM ALL BOAT PARADE 

All boats parade and we mean all boats…This free event is open to sailors, canoers, kayakers, small electric boaters, and yes pontoon boats.  This is a casual meeting of friends and an opportunity to make new friends as we meander around the lake and then meet in the middle in celebration of the 70th Anniversary.  Bring refreshments.  Please text 518-860-4805 or email hasnak50@yahoo.com if you’ll be attending,  Include the type of boat and number in your party.  Pontoon boats must have a spotter on their boat to ensure the safety of those in smaller boats.  This is the first time we are trying to mix all boat types and we want to make it safe for everyone.  Additional information will be posted as we get closer to the event.

 

JULY 16 10:00 AM SHARE STORIES AND LISTEN TO YOUR GALWAY LAKE HISTORY

This free event is open to the Galway Lake community and will be held at the Rubacks Pavilion.   This event is being presented in a storytelling format and you’ll not want to miss this one.  Please contact Sue Lantelme at slantelme57@gmail.com if you’ll be attending to make sure there is room.  If you would like to participate as a presenter, it’s not too late to do so, just contact Sue. 

 

JULY 16 2:00 PM THROWBACK REGATTA

Test your endurance as you race the lake as they did.  The course starts between the pontoon boat and Buhrmaster’s boathouse and the course is NWS NWS Finish.  The hardy sailor nor the new sailor who wants to test their skill will not want to miss this one.
